Who we are:

Winemaker Virginia Marie Lambrix graduated from UC, Davis and the Russian River Valley served as her laboratory after earning her degree. It was clear to Virginia that the principals of respecting nature and nurturing ecology within the vineyard made sense in a scientific framework and on an intuitive level. Virginia worked side by side with winemakers, Hugh Chappelle at Lynmar and Greg La Follette at De Loach Vineyards. At De Loach she worked closely with her growers moving their vineyards closer to sustainable farming methods. VML is the label distinction made with Virginia’s initials and was founded in the spring of 2011.

VML’s Single Vineyard Designate wines are meant to capture the imagination, beauty and unique qualities of a specific vineyard site. Vineyard Designate wines from the Boudreaux, Ivywood and Swicegood Vineyards are mainstays for VML. Virginia says these wines let the vineyard sources speak for themselves.

Place: VML winery comes into view as a sweeping turn opens to an expansive view of the distant mountains rising above the vineyards. From VML’s entrance, gardens of fruit trees, herbs and flowers greet the visitor as the first interpretation of the wines at VML Winery. The Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from VML are elegant with aromas like rose, lavender, and fresh picked stone fruit.

When visiting VML, guests are treated to gregarious hospitality, beautiful grounds with gardens of fruits and herbs and daily food pairings. Each Saturday VML hosts live music and provides a BBQ food pairing with its wines. Picnic tables are placed around the garden and are available for visitors to linger and enjoy the wines.
